Under FoI, I seek information relating to instances where patients have refused blood transplants on personal preference grounds. An example of the 'personal preference' to which I refer would involve a person refusing blood that they suspected might have originated from a person of another race, or a person of a particular religion refusing a transplant where they suspected the blood might have come from someone of a different faith. I exclude from my query the issue of some persons refusing outright blood transfusions on faith grounds, such as Jehovah's Witnesses. The period of my query covers 1/1/2001 to the present date.
