National Distribution Centre (NDC)

The National Distribution Centre (part of National Procurement Scotland) deliver goods to hospital wards, departments and community centres across Scotland.
It is a national contract framework that is intended to make the purchasing of goods and/or services easier across all public services in Scotland.
 
By combining the buying power of a number of Scottish public bodies e.g. NHS Scotland, Scottish Councils, Police Scotland etc it provides a logistical solution to provide the best supply/delivery routing in Scotland for nationally contracted goods/supplies whilst also ensuring best value for money.
Typically the NDC team delivers more than 80,000 lines of goods every week on a 48hrs delivery agreement with a 98% success rate, on time, first time.
In 2015 National Procurement saved the NHS in Scotland £9.8 million.
