Travelling to Clinic

Please remember you should not drive for at least 6 weeks after your kidney transplant.

You must pay for hospital parking. There are 2 pay-stations one in car park B at the front of the hospital and one at the rear entrance to the hospital. Charges are quite expensive. If you are able to claim money back for your travel (see section "Going home") please ask the staff at Out Patient Department 1 (OPD 1) reception for a claim form. You can then be reimbursed at the cashiers office.

Hospital Transport

You will be medically assessed for hospital transport. There is currently a direct patient booking system which you can request trasnsport upto 28 days in advance. The number is 0300 123 1236 (charged at local rates on landlines or mobile phones). You will be given an information sheet on discharge.

Bus

There are many buses that serve the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh clink on the attached link to find the bus most suited to your travel.
