Understanding Health Promotion

Description: to increase participants' knowledge of health promotion and inequalities in health and show how an understanding of these can develop practice

Introduction to Group Work Skills

19th and 20th of September 2017 - 9.30am-4.30pm, Post Grad Education Centre, Edinburgh Royal Infirmary

Description: to provide participants with a basic understanding of the knowledge and skills involved in successfully running groups.

Introduction to Health Behaviour Change

10th of October 2017 - 9.30am-4.30pm, Post Grad Education Centre, Edinburgh Royal Infirmary

Description: to increase the confidence of participants in helping clients to positively change health-related behaviour through the application of motivational interviewing techniques.

Young People and Tobacco

1st of November 2017 - 9.30am-4.30pm, Function Room, Liberton Hospital

Description: to enable workers to gain an insight into the key issues relating to young people's tobacco use, and to consider how both tobacco prevention and cessation can be delivered to young people

Introduction to Creative Imaginative Learning (CIL)

6th of December 2017 - 9.30am-4.30pm, Jack Kane Education Centre

Description: this invigorating one day course aims to deliver substance with sizzle! Participants will be fully involved in active learning throughout the day and will be able to use the techniques, principles and theories of CIL when delivering their own training.
