Lothian Diabetes Managed Clinical Network
Page Content
Mission Statement
To promote optimum health for all people with diabetes in Lothian through the design and delivery of an integrated service.
About
Providing care for people with diabetes depends on the co-ordinated activity of many different professionals and other people concerned with diabetes within and outwith the NHS. A Managed Clinical Network (MCN) was established as part of the Lothian Diabetes Strategy to support the provision of joined up care between this diverse range of professionals and patients. We are delighted to say that the Lothian MCN for Diabetes received official accreditation from the Scottish Executive in May of 2006.
The LDSAG (Lothian Diabetes Services Advisory Group) is the governing body of the MCN and the MCN Steering Group is the Executive that takes forward the aims of the LDSAG. Information and minutes of these and other LDSAG subgroup are posted under MCN Information.
The aims of the Network
- To minimise complications and premature death in those with diabetes
- To maximise the quality of life of those with diabetes by detecting and treating the disease and its complications at an early stage
- To provide equal access to high quality diabetes care for all residents of Lothian
