Scottish Breast Screening Programme
Page Content
The Scottish Breast Screening Programme (SBSP) was set up over 22 years ago following publication of the Forrest report. Although the programme has undergone significant developments over the years, there has never been a full national review of the service. It is now necessary to undertake a formal review of the way the service is delivered to ensure that it can adapt to meet future challenges, and remain a sustainable high quality and equitable breast screening service for women aged 50 to 70 resident in Scotland, and in the most clinically and cost effective way.
As part of the evidence gathering process the Review Group is keen to ensure that the views of women, and others impacted by the breast screening programme, shape the breast screening service of the future. A questionnaire has been developed to survey views, and this will be available from Monday 1st August closing on Sunday 28th August 2011. The questionnaire can be accessed using the link below.
