2015 Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival

This year’s Festival explores dimensions of mental health through the theme of passion, looking at how we learn to live with our passions and make them work positively for us. Events will consider passion in all its forms – intensity, love, rebellion, excitement, hope and fear – and in particular to celebrate our passion for the arts and the passion artist have for the creative process.
From the 10 – 31st of October venues across Edinburgh and Lothians will play host to a range of events to include  visual arts, poetry, storytelling, and film ensuring there is something for everyone.
The Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film festival in Edinburgh and Lothian is a celebration of people and the strength of community. Led by people with lived experience of mental ill health, it is a platform, through which people can become part of a shared experience, say what they want to say and be heard. The commitment and pride of all those involved make the festival as diverse and far reaching as it is today and enable the festival to develop and build on the experiences of each year.
By sharing what excites us artistically – films, art, music, theatre, literature and more – we can open up conversations about mental health and go some way towards reducing stigma.
We hope that there is something for everyone to feel passionate about in this year’s programme.
