Our Food, Our Health, Our Care
NHS Lothian Catering Strategy 2014 – 2024

Your chance to help shape catering within NHS Lothian

NHS Lothian’s draft Catering Strategy - Our Food, Our Health, Our Care - is now out for public engagement.

The strategy is designed to:

  • improve our ability to provide high quality meals for our patients, staff and visitors
  • provide meals for patients with specific nutritional needs and aid their recovery
  • make sure our plan includes staff development to ensure we have the necessary skills to deliver our vision
  • increase our flexibility to adapt to future requirements
  • provide better value and financial sustainability
  • engage in relevant clinical research to improve our understanding of nutrition and thereby improve clinical outcomes.

You can read a summary of the strategy or the full version.

We welcome your views on our strategy, which you can e-mail to us at: cateringstrategy@nhslothian.scot.nhs.uk

or you can write to: Danny Gillan, Head of Soft FM, Facilities, NHS Lothian, Waverley Gate, 2-4 Waterloo Place, Edinburgh, EH1 3EG.

We are happy to consider requests from local groups to attend meetings and talk about the strategy.

The Engagement period runs until 19 June 2015. The feedback from this engagement will be used to shape the final version of the strategy which will presented to the Board in October 2015.

Please help us to get from where we are now to where we’d like to be by giving us your views and experiences.
