Little France Crescent road closure and early works

Initial construction works to build the new Royal Hospital for Sick Children and Department of Clinical Neurosciences have started on-site.

Some of the main early works will see the demolition of the crèche and petrol station at the entrance to Little France Crescent. You will notice that the contractor has installed fencing around the site and new signage is being erected. Car Park E has also now closed in order to form part of the construction site compound.

As part of the works a section of Little France Crescent has closed to traffic.

The section of road which runs from the revolving door roundabout (west entrance) to the Emergency Department has closed to all traffic.

This closure will allow the reconfiguration of the current road system, the redevelopment of the temporary ambulance drop off area to allow construction of the new A&E drop off zone as part of the phasing.

There are also imminent construction works planned in this area which will see the redevelopment of the Endoscopy Department and this is expected to start in early March.

We truly hope that these road changes do not put you out and would again thank you for your support as we build this new healthcare facility and we improve the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
