Update on project start date - July 2015

NHS Lothian has received an update from Scottish Futures Trust on ESA2010 and its impact on the Bundle Programme (Blackburn Partnership Centre, Allmermuir Health Centre (formerly Firrhill Partnership Centre) and North West Edinburgh Partnership Centre).

The ESA2010 issue relates to revised European guidance which affects Non Profit Distributing model (NPD) and hub Design Build Finance and Maintain (DBFM) programmes. NHS Lothian have been informed that Scottish Futures Trust are working to resolve this issue.

The main suggested change which affects the Bundle Programme is the deletion of the capital input into the projects. The bundle currently has capital injections from both the City of Edinburgh Council and West Lothian Council.

A timetable for resolution and further updates are expected from Scottish Futures Trust in the near future. Until we receive this update NHS Lothian are unable to provide a timescale as to when construction will start on the Bundle Programme Partnership Centres.

Major milestone for Firrhill Partnership Centre - June 2014

A major milestone has been reached for the proposed new £7-million Firrhill Partnership Centre with the project having now received planning approval.

The planning approval follows a number of consultation events which took place at the end of 2013, where members of the local community were able to see and comment on the proposed designs for the new Centre on Colinton Mains Drive.

The new Centre will provide accommodation for the Craiglockhart Medical Group, replacing its existing surgeries at Colinton Road and Oxgangs Path, as well as relocating the Firrhill Medical Practice from its current surgery on Colinton Mains Road.

The plans include the provision of new clinical facilities for podiatry, physiotherapy, community nursing and child health. Work is expected to begin on-site in early 2015.
