Midlothian Public Partnership Forum for Health Recruiting a New Chair

Midlothian Public Partnership Forum for Health is recruiting a new Chair of its Steering Group.

  • Do you want to help make sure NHS services meet the needs of local people?
  • Are you interested in strengthening public engagement in the NHS?
  • Do you have experience of chairing a group?

You could be the person we are looking for.

Midlothian Public Partnership Forum for Health is a partnership between local people, community groups and the NHS. It aims to:

  • Ensure people are involved in planning and decision-making about local health services
  • Provide ways for people to raise issues about health
  • Help improve information about health services and healthy living.

The Steering Group meets every two months to co-ordinate the work of the forum.  We are looking for a new Chair to support the forum for the next year. This is a voluntary position. Over the year the forum will undergo a period of transition as health and social care are brought together to form a new “health and care partnership.” Some of the skills we are looking for are:

  • To enable group members to express themselves openly and equally
  • To be able to assess information and identify where action needs to be taken
  • To be reliable and committed to carrying out tasks.

You do not need experience of working within the NHS.
