Temporary car park closure at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh

One of the car parks at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh will be closed over the next week.

Car park B, on the west of the Little France site will be closed from 6pm on Friday 22 July until 6pm on Friday 29 July.

Visitors to the hospital are being asked to use car parks A, C, D and E which are on the east of the site.

The car park is being closed as part of work to move services to the perimeter of the site in preparation for the construction of NHS Lothian’s new hospital for children and young people and department of clinical neurosciences (DCN).

A new car park, car park F, is being built at the north of the Little France site as a long-term replacement for car park B. It will be opened temporarily for staff parking during the closure of car park B over the coming week.

Jackie Sansbury, chief operating officer for university hospital division, NHS Lothian, said:

“We apologise for the inconvenience that this car park closure may cause. We have signage and extra staff on hand to assist those arriving at the site by car and would encourage people to consider using public transport when travelling to the hospital.”
