Mental Health Matters - Royal Edinburgh Hospital, Friday 9 October, 10am - 3pm

Royal Edinburgh Hospital
Friday 9 October
10am - 3pm

An event highlighting the positive changes and innovations in mental health provision in NHS Lothian is being held at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital on Friday 9 October.

Mental Health Matters, part of Mental Health Week which is taking place from 5-11 October, will give staff, patients, carers and community groups an opportunity to share knowledge and information.

Hospital wards and services, as well as our community mental health teams, will be putting on displays to showcase the many new and positive projects which have been introduced. Community partners will also have displays and some will be giving presentations. This will allow everyone involved to learn more about the hospital and also to gain a greater understanding of services available across the city.

Throughout the day, a range of events will be held including film screenings in the Jordanburn Lecture Theatre, tours of the new Craiglockhart Centre, get active sessions in the physiotherapy department, author readings and talks in the Patients’ Library, art exhibitions and workshops and a comedy workshop.

Among the organisations that will be attending are: Penumbra, See Me, Choose Life, Edinburgh Crisis Centre, Edinburgh Carers’ Council, the Mental Welfare Commission, Health in Mind, the Volunteer Service, Citizens’ Advice Bureau, Outlook Project, Breathing Space, Hearing Voices group, Remploy, Craigmillar Arts Project, Edinburgh Pet Care Network, Edinburgh Women’s Aid, Artlink, The Patients’ Council, Lothian Recovery Network and Living Life to the Full.

If mental health matters to you then come along!
