The director of strategic planning began her NHS career as a nurse before moving into general management in 1994, taking up a post as a business manager at the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh. From there, Mrs Sansbury was appointed as regional director for planning for SEAT, the South East and Tayside Planning Group in 2002 before taking up the role of Director of Healthcare Planning in NHS Lothian in February 2003.
