Over the coming years there will be a significant amount of development work taking place on the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh Campus to prepare the grounds and current hospital for the new building.

A number of changes are required in advance of construction of the replacement hospital. These range from changes to the roads, to preparing areas in the Royal Infirmary so the two buildings can be linked together.

The project teams and contractors carrying out the work will be doing everything possible to minimise disruption and would ask patients, visitors and staff for their patience and understanding while the work is taking place.

The RIE-Enabling Work (RIE-EnablingWork.pdf) document sets out a visual look at how the site will be developed over the next few years ahead of the new hospital opening in 2017
