The following are some projects or organisations that aim to help you keep healthy.

Ageing Well

Ageing Well provide a range of activities for people aged 50+ with the aim of keeping people fit, healthy and active. For example they organise walking, dancing and singing groups throughout Midlothian. The project is run by a team of volunteers. Contact Vivian Wallace, Ageing Well Co-ordinator on 01968 664 088.

Midlothian Active Choices

This project is available to help people with weight problems, anxiety and /or depression, long term condition e.g. chronic obstructive airways disease, become more physically active. You will be supported to access a range of physical activity choices from Midlothian Leisure, walking groups or self led activity.

Midlothian Community Food Initiative

McFi aims to increase opportunities to access low cost, quality fruit and veg across Midlothian, by selling produce at venues across Midlothian and by operating the Toot for Fruit mobile shop van. Help with Stopping Smoking

There is support available within Midlothian CHP to help people stop smoking.

If you are resident or are registered with a GP Practice in Midlothian, please contact the Stop Smoking support telephone below and help and support will be provided. Support for pregnant women is also available by ringing this number.

Help with alcohol and drug problems

MELD (Mid and East Lothian Drugs)
Information, advice, support and counselling for drug users, their families and friends. Services include needle exchange, education, training, streetwork, family support, offenders service, acupuncture and complimentary therapies.
