Community Psychiatric Nurses

Mental Health Services

Community mental health nurses will have undertaken a minimum of 3 years training, completing either a diploma or degree. They will normally, but not always, work within multi disciplinary teams with other mental health professionals. Some will have undertaken training in specific therapeutic interventions, for example, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT). They will be accredited and receive regular supervision when they provide such interventions.
