The Community Mental Health Service consists of several teams in several bases across Edinburgh.
Access to the service for people who are experiencing difficulties with their mental health is generally via your GP but may be through another health professional. After assessment, your GP can choose to make a written referral into the relevant service and if accepted an appointment will be offered to you, in writing, within 18 weeks.
Appointments may be in an out-patient department, in your GP surgery or sometimes at home, depending on what is required.
